To use Banco Montepio’s applications, you must:
- Download the applications from the official stores;
- Install the application on your device;
- Access the application using your Montepio24 service credentials.
We need to ensure that the Customer accesses their accounts using their Montepio24 login credentials together with Strong Authentication methods. Additionally, this also allows the Customer to access two features without having to log in to the application:
- Viewing account balances (Widgets)
- Making payments with MB WAY
When accessing the application, we ensure that access is made exclusively by the registered Customer, making it possible to provide the above-mentioned features without the need to log in.
Requests for permission to access personal data are necessary so that we can provide certain features within the applications.
The collection and processing of your personal data are safeguarded by our Privacy Policy.
The following types of personal data are processed to enable features within the application, and permissions are requested for the following reasons and purposes:
Contacts
To allow certain features to access the device’s contact list (e.g., making transfers via MB WAY).
Phone
To allow the Customer to make calls directly from phone numbers available within the application (e.g., Customer Support).
Storage
To allow reading, downloading, and saving files on the device (e.g., PDF documents, digital documentation, and operation receipts).
Camera
To allow MB WAY payments using QR Code scanning and to enable customization of profile and background photos within the applications.
Files and Multimedia
To allow image uploads for customizing the profile and background photos within the applications.
Location
- Access only to approximate location in the foreground.
- Access only to precise location in the foreground.
Your location will be used only while the application is in use and exclusively in the following situation:
- When searching for Banco Montepio branches near you.
Your location data is neither stored nor shared with third parties without your consent.
Other Permissions
To ensure proper overall functionality:
- Use biometric hardware (Fingerprint and Facial Recognition)
- Prevent phone from entering idle mode
- Check internet connection
- Prevent background operation
- Control “Near Field Communication” (NFC)
- Send and read notifications
We collect and use data for the following purposes:
- Opening current deposit accounts
- Acquiring banking and/or insurance products or services
- Maintaining customer or account data
This data is provided by you and is not shared with any other entity without your explicit consent.
